Water from a USFS forest fire water storage tank--Yes we did have permission!
Water from one of our many 'trail angel' water drops.
I've never been so happy to see bottled water in my life!
Track us and check out our updates as we begin our hike on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). On top of working towards the goal of completing the 2,650 mile trail, we also hope to raise that same amount in dollars for the West Virginia Highlands Conservancy. Check out our related links and our dedicated page through the Highlands Conservancy for more information and to donate.
Lucky to find that one in the midst of the forest, huh! Apparently, the water tank in the woods would not only serve as an emergency fire extinguisher but also a water supply for hikers. But still they have to make sure that the water they get from the tank should be boiled to ensure that it’s clean and potable.
